Key details regarding the Canada Greener Homes Loan:
NRCan is now offering 10 year, interest free loans with a minimum loan value of $5,000 and a maximum value of $40,000.
Applications for the Canada Greener Homes Loan are now open to eligible Canadian homeowners who are looking to do energy efficient upgrades to their property.
The initial phase is open to eligible homeowners who are applying or have an open application to the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
The second phase will begin in early September and will expand to include homeowners who have already received a grant or requested a post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation under the Canada Greener Homes Grant and want to apply for any remaining eligible retrofits they are interested in pursuing and have not yet commenced.
The initiative will provide $4.4 billion in interest-free loans to as many as 175,000 homeowners across the country.
